Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh took a hilarious dig at Australian pacer Mitchell Starc with an Instagram post. He roasted the fast bowler for getting INR 24.75 crore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction.

Mitchell Starc scripted history recently as he became the highest-paid player in the history of the IPL. The lanky fast bowler was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 24.75 crore and broke the record of Pat Cummins, who bagged INR 20.5 crore in the same auction.

Mitchell Starc will be making a comeback in the IPL after 9 long years as he last played in the league in 2015. He was part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and played a great role in the team. The pacer opted out of the league to be fit for the national side.

Mitchell Starc no doubt is one of the best pacers going around in the world of cricket. Him getting such a high price in the auction was expected because of the kind of caliber that he possesses. The fast bowler will add great value to the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the upcoming edition.

Since the time Mitchell Starc acquired a whopping amount in the auction, there have been a lot of talks around him. Recently, Harbhajan Singh took a hilarious jibe at him. The former Indian spinner posted a video of the pacer in which he was speaking to broadcasters. However, in the clip, the voice of the pacer and what he was saying were changed.

Here’s the video:

Mitchell Starc has played 27 games in the IPL and has taken 34 wickets at an economy and average of 7.17 and 20.38. The pacer has the best of 4/15 in the league and would be hoping to make a big impact this time around.

Harbhajan Singh Slams BCCI For Not Picking Cheteshwar Pujara For South Africa Test

India team are currently locking horns with South Africa in the two-match Test series. The Rohit Sharma-led looked clueless in the first game and suffered an innings and 32-run thrashing in the first game. They looked clueless with both bat and ball and it didn’t seem that they were there to fight.

Harbhajan Singh highlighted that India missed the services of Cheteshwar Pujara in the first game. He lashed out at the BCCI for not picking the veteran in the team and pointed out that the batter had similar numbers as that of Virat Kohli. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:

“Didn’t select Ajinkya Rahane and have left Cheteshwar Pujara out for no reason. These are the two players who have scored runs everywhere. If you look at the previous record Pujara has the same contribution as Kohli had.

“I don’t understand why Pujara has been left out, we still don’t have a better batter than Puajra in Test cricket. He plays slowly but he saves you, because of him India won Test in Australia and England.”

The second India vs South Africa Test will be played on 3rd January in Capetown. India would be hoping to make a comeback and level the series.
