The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are considering the possibility of securing England white-ball captain Jos Buttler’s services for their franchises in other leagues around the world. The Royals management was keen to establish a long-term association with Jos Buttler and sign him on a four-year contract.
Jos Buttler, currently associated with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is also a part of the Paarl Royals franchise in the SA20 League. However, he has not represented the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) yet, despite being owned by the same management.

Mumbai Indians Approach Jofra Archer For Contract
Buttler’s potential contract offer from the RR is not the first instance of an IPL franchise exploring long-term deals with players. Reports have emerged suggesting that the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) have offered a five-year contract to English fast bowler Jofra Archer.
Jofra Archer currently plays for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and also represents the MI Cape Town franchise in South Africa’s Twenty20 League (SA20). The right arm will represent the MI franchises in ILT20 and the MLC if he signs the proposed contract with the Mumbai-based franchise.

Jason Roy Stepped Away From His Central Contract
The other franchises are considering offering long-term contracts to their players to solidify their various franchises in the league. Players have to give up their national contracts to sign contracts with IPL franchises or other leagues around the world.
The cricket boards will have to seek permission from the franchise authorities to secure the player’s services for events like ICC tournaments. Recently, Jason Roy made the decision to give up his central contract in order to play in the MLC 2023 season.
