Like the last auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be a dominating franchise in the IPL 2024 auction. SRH has Rs. 34 crore available for the auction- the most after Gujarat Titans. Hence, Sunrisers Hyderabad is expected to sign some expensive players during the IPL 2024 auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad was the worst performer last season as they finished in the last position in the points table. The franchise named Aiden Markram as their new skipper last season and has also retained him for IPL 2023. The 2016 champions retained 18 players in their squad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

The Aiden Markram-led side retained many core members like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Heinrich Klaasen, Marco Jansen, Rahul Tripathi, T Natarajan, Umran Malik, and Washington Sundar. They also made one trade ahead of the auction. SRH traded Mayank Dagar to Royal Challengers Bangalore and picked Shahbaz Ahmed from them.

SRH also parted ways with 6 players. Harry Brook was a notable player who was dropped from the side. He was the most expensive player for SRH in the last auction. Adil Rashid and Akeal Hosein were other popular players who ended their partnerships with the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

Since the 2021 season, SRH has changed three skippers. David Warner, Kane Williamson, and Aiden Markram have led the side in the last three seasons. Markram might lead the team in the next season too.
