MS Dhoni continues to be a familiar name to be discussed within the cricket fraternity despite retiring from international cricket in 2020. Very soon he will be seen in IPL 2024 leading the Chennai Super Kings.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul in a recent conversation with MensXP spoke about MS Dhoni’s impact in international cricket and his impact on individual players throughout his career.

No One Can Be Compared To MS Dhoni: KL Rahul

The former Indian skipper led India from 2007-2016 winning three ICC titles – the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, and Champions Trophy. In the process, he unearthed many new players and turned them into matchwinners. A few of the veteran Indian players played their best cricket under his captaincy.

Talking to MensXP KL Rahul said “I don’t think anyone can be compared to MS Dhoni. All of us in the team, when we say leader when we say captain, MS Dhoni is the first name which comes to our mind.”

His words certainly speak a lot about the kind of impact he has had with his captaincy in Indian cricket and in the IPL. He will be heading into the IPL next year as the CSK skipper aged 42.

The former Indian skipper played the entire IPL 2023 with a knee injury. He had a successful knee surgery after winning the IPL 2023 title. Dhoni has had time to recover and by the time the IPL starts, he is expected to be fully fit to join and lead his IPL franchise. Dhoni spoke about playing one final season after he won his fifth IPL title with Chennai Super Kings.

“The easy thing for me is to say thank you and retire. But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to (see me) play one more season,” said Dhoni in the post-match presentation ceremony.
