Chennai Super Kings (CSK) physio Tommy Simsek dismissed reports regarding MS Dhoni's anger after the loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024.

Former India and CSK player Harbhajan Singh recently said that MS Dhoni punched a screen in frustration after the defeat to the RCB team.

MS Dhoni is known for his calm demeanor and clarity of vision both on and off the field. The wicketkeeper-batter led the CSK team to five titles (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023) in the tournament.

He is the joint most successful captain in IPL history, tied with Rohit Sharma for five titles as captain.

MS Dhoni Punched A Screen Outside The Dressing Room - Harbhajan Singh

In a recent interaction, Harbhajan Singh recounted the emotional moments following Chennai Super Kings' defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 playoffs. He, who was on commentary in Bengaluru, said that MS Dhoni lost his cool and punched a screen as he headed to the dressing room.

"RCB were celebrating and they deserved to celebrate because of the way they won. I was watching the whole scene from above because I was present there," Harbhajan Singh narrated the incident, as quoted by the Times of India.

"CSK had lined up to shake hands. RCB were a little late to reach there. By the time, RCB finished their celebration, (Dhoni) went inside. Dressing room se pehle jo screen hai, uspe mukka bhi maara (he punched a screen outside the dressing room). I was watching from above, but it is okay, it happens when you win or lose," Harbhajan Singh added.

CSK needed 201 runs to secure a spot in the IPL playoffs. MS Dhoni was at the crease when the team needed 17 runs off the final over to qualify.

He started the over by hitting a huge six off the first ball. However, he was dismissed by Yash Dayal on the next delivery, and CSK fell short by nine runs.

Following the match, a disappointed Dhoni joined his CSK teammates for the customary handshake, but RCB players were still celebrating.

He walked off the field without shaking hands with RCB cricketers, who were over the moon as they qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs after six consecutive wins.

This Is Absolute Rubbish - Tommy Simsek

After Harbhajan Singh's comments gained attention, Tommy Simsek responded on Instagram to give clarity regarding the situation.

Simsek dismissed the rumors and described them as "absolute rubbish." The CSK Physio added he has never seen MS Dhoni aggressive after any match.

"This is absolute Rubbish! MSD did not break anything and I have never seen him aggressive after any match. Fake news!," Simsek wrote.

The CSK legend handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad before the start of IPL 2024.

The 43-year-old scored 161 runs at an impressive strike rate of 220.55, with 14 fours and 13 sixes. The CSK team can retain Dhoni as an uncapped player as he hasn't played international cricket in the last five years.
