Star Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell has said that the Indian Premier League had a major impact on his life and it has changed him as a person and a cricketer.

Maxwell was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise during the Indian Premier League 2021 auction for INR 14.25 crores. He performed exceptionally under the leadership of Virat Kohli and emerged as the highest run-getter for RCB in the 14th edition of the cash-rich league with 513 runs in his bag.

Meanwhile, Maxwell has said that the Indian Premier League has helped him to meet some of the people he has admired.

“The IPL has changed my life in an amazing way that I have been able to meet some of my heroes, some of the people I have admired playing for and against. IPL has changed me as a cricketer, changed me as a person,” he said.

The 33-year-old added that he owes the Indian Premier League “a hell of a lot” because it has helped him develop as an international cricketer and adapt to different situations.

“I probably wasn’t as culturally aware as a young player about India. The people that I have met, the things that I have learned from the IPL have helped me as a cricketer and more importantly as a person”, said Maxwell while speaking to Danish Sait on the RCB Podcast.

“I owe the IPL a hell of a lot because it has also helped me as an international cricketer. I have been able to adapt to different situations which I never thought I would do ever”, he added.

The explosive Australian batsman has been retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022.
