Sunday, April 13, was a double header in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025. In the first game of the day, Rajasthan Royals hosted Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Jaipur before Delhi Capitals welcomed Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
RR suffered a crushing 9-wicket defeat against RCB at home. Batting first, the Sanju Samson-led side scored 173/4 in the allotted 20 overs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed with the bat for the home side, scoring 75 runs off 47 balls with the help of 10 fours and two sixes.
Riyan Parag (30) and Dhruv Jurel (35) also played crucial knocks for RR. In reply, RCB chased down the total in less than 18 overs to get back to winning ways. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave RCB a flying start by adding 92 runs in less than 9 overs for the first wicket. Salt departed for 65 runs.

It was followed by an unbeaten stand of 83 runs between Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. Kohli remained unbeaten on 62 while Padikkal scored 40 runs.
In the second game of the day, MI beat DC by 12 runs to get back to winning ways. After scoring 205 runs, MI bowled out DC for 193 runs to register a much-needed win.
Batting first, MI posted a big total of 205/5 in 20 overs. Tilak Varma scored his second fifty in as many games to lead MI's charge with the bat. The southpaw scored 59 runs off 33 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. The likes of Ryan Rickelton (41), Suryakumar Yadav (40), and Naman Dhir (38*) played important knocks as well.
In reply, DC were on 119 for 1 in the 11th over and were looking destined to win the game before collapsing in a spectacular fashion. Karun Nair, playing his first IPL game since 2022, starred with the bat, smashing 89 runs off just 40 balls but other DC batters were disappointed.

With the win, MI have moved to the seventh spot in the points table. DC, on the other hand, are at the second spot after suffering their first defeat of the season.
