Gujarat Titans (GT), on Friday (May 2), beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 38 runs to register their 7th win of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025).
Chasing 225 runs, SRH finished their innings on 186/6. The Hyderabad-based outfit was off to a quick start with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, 49 runs in 27 balls for the first wicket. The partnership came to an end when Rashid Khan took a sensational diving catch to send back Head for 20.
GT on the 2nd spot
The likes of Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen could not deliver with the bat either, departing for 13 and 23 respectively. Abhishek waged a lone battle but did not get good support from the other end. The opening batsman was eventually out for 74 runs.
After his departure, SRH lost 3 wickets for just 6 runs to find themselves reeling at 145/6 from 139/3. Last year's runners-up eventually ended their innings on 186/6.

Earlier in the GT vs SRH game, GT finished their innings on 224/6 after being asked to bat first. Captain Shubman Gill led his team from the front once again and top-scored for his side. He scored 76 runs off 38 balls with the help of 10 fours and two sixes.
Jos Buttler impressed with the bat as well, scoring 64 runs off 37 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes. Gill and Sai Sudharsan gave GT a flying start by adding 87 runs for the first wicket before the latter departed for 48.
Gill and Buttler then added 62 runs for the second wicket. For SRH, Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of the bowlers in the GT vs SRH match, taking 3 wickets for 35 runs off his 4 overs.
