Cricket Ireland and Zimbabwe Cricket have announced the complete schedule for the forthcoming Ireland tour of Zimbabwe 2023, which is scheduled to take place in January.
The Ireland tour of Zimbabwe 2023 will consist of six white-ball games – 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 3 T20 Internationals (T20Is). The T20Is are scheduled to take place on January 12, 14, and 15 while the ODIs are set to be played on January 18, 20, and 23.

All six matches of the Ireland tour of Zimbabwe 2023 will be played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. Also, the three-match ODI series between the Irish team and the Chevrons will not be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.
The Ireland tour of Zimbabwe 2023 will be the first international assignment for both teams since the conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which was held in Australia.
Both Ireland and Zimbabwe were placed in the Group B of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Round 1 and they managed to qualify for the Super 12 stage. Also, both sides pulled off major upsets in the World Cup.
The Andrew Balbirnie-led side defeated the World Champions England by 5 runs as per the DLS method and the Craig Ervine-led side defeated finalists Pakistan by 1 run.
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League: Ireland In 10th Place, Zimbabwe In 12th Spot
The upcoming limited-overs series between the Ireland National Cricket Team and the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team will provide valuable game time to both teams in the lead-up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, which is scheduled to be held in Zimbabwe in June-July 2023.
Zimbabwe National Cricket Team are currently in the 12th spot on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League points table and they are out of the running to qualify directly for the World Cup, which is set to be hosted by India in October-November next year.
However, Ireland National Cricket Team have still got the chance to directly qualify for the World Cup. They are currently in 10th place on the points table.
Team Ireland need to win all three games of their last series against Bangladesh in 2023 to have a chance to secure the eighth and final automatic-qualification slot. Also, they will be hopeful that Sri Lanka and South Africa don’t win all their respective remaining contests.
