The day keeps getting better and better for the 21-year-old Ishan Kishan.

On a day that saw the Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batsman become the second Indian cricketer to make his ODI debut on his birthday, Kishan has now added two more feathers on his cap.

Ishan had announced himself to the international arena in T20I cricket earlier this year against England by smashing his first-ever delivery for a four.

He went even better on his ODI debut against Sri Lanka as he danced down the track and smashed Dhananjaya de Silva for a statement-making six off his first delivery over long-on to become the first-ever Indian batter to do so on ODI debut.

Kishan, just like Prithvi Shaw, launched a brutal attack on the Sri Lankan bowlers- especially their spinners- as he danced down the track regularly to smash them over their head besides rocking back and smoking them over midwicket or leaning forward to drive them through the covers.

Kishan brought up his maiden 50 on his ODI debut with his ruthless pull-over deep midwicket off Asalanka. His 50 came off just 33 balls, which is the second-fewest deliveries taken by a better on ODI debut.

In the process, Ishan Kishan has also become the first Indian batter to smash a half-century on T20I and ODI debut.

Robin Uthappa had also scored a half-century in his maiden ODI (against England) and T20I innings (against Pakistan) but his debut T20 game against Scotland had ended in a washout.

Kishan was eventually dismissed for a whirlwind 42-ball 59 by Lakshan Sandakan.
