Ishan Kishan continues to rack up milestones for himself on his ODI debut in the ongoing game against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
On a day where Kishan has become only the second Indian cricketer to make his ODI debut on his birthday, the Jharkhand swashbuckler has racked up another record for himself.
The 21-year-old Ishan Kishan announced himself to the ODI arena by dancing down the track and smoking Dhananjaya de Silva for a monstrous six over long-on.
And, by doing that, he has become the first Indian batter in history to smash a six off his very first ball on ODI debut.
Kishan backed the six with a ferocious square-cut past backward point for a boundary off the next delivery to make his intentions absolutely clear.
The left-hander was brutal against De Silva as he smashed a hat-trick of fours in the formers very next over to race past to 23 off just 11 deliveries.
Prior to Ishan Kishan, it was Prithvi Shaw, who took the attack to the Sri Lankan bowling attack in the powerplay.
The diminutive right-handed swashbuckling laid into the Sri Lankan seamers as he displayed his full repertoire of exquisite stroke play.
Shaw smashed a belligerent 24-ball 43 which included as many as nine fours and it was his intent that helped India race past the 50-run-mark in 5 overs.
Shaw was eventually dismissed by Dhananjaya de Silva in the 6th over but since then, Ishan Kishan and Shikhar Dhawan have taken the charge and, at the time of writing, India were 1/96 after 12.
