Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has scripted history on Day 2 of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2026 final between the East Zone and the South Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The East Zone captain smashed a brilliant double century on Day 2 of the summit clash to take his team to a strong position against the South Zone, led by Tilak Varma, in Chennai on September 7. Earlier, Ishan Kishan’s GF shared a heartfelt message after the keeper-batter’s Duleep Trophy century.

Ishan Kishan became the first East Zone batter in 31 years to score a double hundred in the Duleep Trophy. He reached the milestone as captain, making the achievement even more special.
His unbeaten double century has put him in the history books, as Ishan became the second player to do so as captain. The last player to achieve the feat was Anshuman Gaekwad in 1987.
