Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player, expressed his opinion on the contest and suggested that it could be strange to change the structure too much.

The Caribbean Premier League, one of the world’s most entertaining cricket franchise leagues, has launched the 6ixty, a new cricket format that will hopefully include the spectators.

The CPL has implemented several new rules to partially negate the batter’s advantage in the shortest version of the game while also providing incentives for aggressive play.

“In the past, test matches were always decided by a tie since one team would have missed their ship. Then came ODI cricket, which also changed from 60 to 50 overs, followed by T20, and now T10. The 6ixty is coming, so how much will you alter the game? It is T10 with a difference.”

“The fundamental rule of cricket is that teams consist of 11 players, and you must eliminate 10 of them to eliminate the team as a whole. Ten players were deemed to be too many for ten overs, hence the game would be shortened, just six players would be eliminated, and the team would be out. According to what I understand, there will still be 11 fielders on the field.”

Aakash Chopra backed some ideas of change:

Aakash Chopra agreed with some of the proposed changes and thought it was great that there were rewards for both hitters and bowlers.

“The fact that you can activate the third powerplay at any moment up until the ninth over if any team knocks two sixes in the first 12 balls is quite intriguing. You, therefore, have a motivation to be aggressive in the first 12 balls.”

“It makes sense to try to conserve time by having five successive bowlers bowl from one side, which would entail bowling five overs from one end and then five from the other. In contrast to The Hundred, the over still consists of six deliveries.”

Six men’s teams and three women’s teams will compete in a new T10 tournament in August, which organizer’s say will feature many of the best cricketers from around the world.
