"It Is What It Is" - Sanju Samson Shares Emotional Message After Getting Overlooked For India vs Australia Series

After being overlooked for the upcoming India vs Australia ODI series, Sanju Samson shared an emotional message on his Instagram account on Tuesday, September 19. Sanju Samson is not part of the India squad for the forthcoming IND vs AUS ODI series, which will witness three games.

Notably, the ODI series against Australia is the last campaign for Team India ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023. Hence, players not part of the India squad for IND vs AUS ODI series have no chance of getting a ticket to the World Cup squad now. September 28 is the deadline to submit the final squad to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Sanju Samson’s Emotional Message On Instagram

On Monday, Team India head coach Ajit Agarkar revealed India’s squad for IND vs AUS ODI series. Sanju Samson, who played many ODI games for the last one and a half years, was not picked in the squad. Now, the middle-order batsman has shared an emotional and motivational message on Instagram.

The wicketkeeper-batsman shared a photo of him batting in a match. Along with the photo, he wrote, “It is what it is !! I choose to keep moving forward”. The post got more than 20 thousand likes and 700 comments within minutes. Have a look at his post below.

Interestingly, KL Rahul will lead Team India in the first two matches of IND vs AUS ODI series. Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Virat Kohli are not part of the first two games. However, they will be back for India vs Australia 3rd ODI and Sharma will lead the team in the match.

Earlier, Sanju Samson was picked as a reserve player in Asia Cup 2023. However, he did not get a chance in the playing XI in any game. KL Rahul was injured and missed two games at the start. However, the team went ahead with Ishan Kishan as his replacement in those games.

Sanju Samson is a wicketkeeper-batsman and faces narrow competition from KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan for the spot. However, with KL Rahul’s return in Asia Cup 2023, Samson has found it hard to get a spot in the playing XI.
