Veteran leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal opened up about how he was excited to see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni lift the trophy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Yuzvendra Chahal highlighted that the cricket fans across the country wanted MS Dhoni to win the match.
The MS Dhoni-led team won by five against the Gujarat Titans (GT) through the DLS method in the final match of the recently concluded IPL at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 29. The Chennai-based franchise registered the title for the fifth time in the history of the tournament.

In an interview with News18 CricketNext, Yuzvendra Chahal said that he would have been happy for MS Dhoni even if CSK beat them in the final.
“Definitely, it was an emotional moment. Not only me, but whole India wanted him to win. And it’s a good thing and I’m really happy to see that.

“He is a legend and the way he is, if CSK would have defeated us in the final, I would have been equally happy for him,” Chahal said.

Yuzvendra Chahal Impressed With His Bowling In IPL 2023
Yuzvendra Chahal enjoyed success with the ball in the IPL 2023. The right-arm leg spinner finished the season with 21 wickets at an average of 20.57 and an economy rate of 8.17. He was in fifth place among the leading wicket takers in the tournament.
The 32-year-old surpassed the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler to become the leading wicket-taker in the cash-rich league. The veteran spinner picked up 187 wickets in 145 matches, with an average of 21.69 and an impressive economy rate of 7.67.

MS Dhoni represented the Chennai Super Kings and the Rising Pune Super Giants in the IPL. The right-handed batter scored 5082 runs in 250 matches with an impressive average of 39.09 and a strike rate of 135.9. The CSK skipper became the first player to play 250 matches in the tournament’s history.
