The last few games of the season, lots of things clicked - Pat Cummins

Opting to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a gigantic total of 278/3 on the board, thanks to brilliant performances from Heinrich Klaasen (105*), Travis Head (76), Abhishek Sharma (32), Ishan Kishan (29), and Aniket Verma (12).

Defending the total, they bowled out KKR for 168 in 18.4 overs as Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey picked up three wickets each.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, SRH skipper Pat Cummins looked happy, and he was delighted with the way his team performed in their last few matches. He also labeled SRH's batting performance as scary. He said:

"Amazing finish. The last few games of the season, lots of things clicked and it was scary to watch that kind of batting."

With the players we have, we should be making the finals - Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins said that they have got a solid line-up, which is capable of taking SRH to the final. He stated:

"With the caliber of the players we have, we can't play any worse than what we did earlier. With the players we have, we should be making the finals, this year we didn't.

In the end, Pat Cummins said that he is happy with the SRH squad and how they dealt with the absence of injured players. Pat Cummins stated:

"We get wickets like here, we got to max out and get 250-260 and other ones where we need to graft and get to 170 which we didn't. Quite a few people got opportunities, we looked at each one of them when selecting a team, but couldn't fit them in. Really happy with the squad we have got, few players went with injures back home, we used 20 players."

SRH endured a tough outing in the previous clash vs KKR

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a tough outing at Eden Gardens on April 3, 2025, in their previous IPL match against the Kolkata Knight Riders and they suffered a heavy 80-run defeat.

SRH won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. Mohammed Shami, Pat Cummins, Zeeshan Ansari, Harshal Patel, and Kamindu Mendis bagged one wicket each for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, but still, they allowed KKR to post a massive total of 200/6 on the board.

Chasing the target, SRH were off to a disastrous start as they lost Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan within the first three overs. They were unable to recover from the early damage and looked completely lost in the rest of the innings.

Though Kamindu Mendis (27 off 20) and Heinrich Klaasen (33 off 21) showed some resistance with their decent batting display, the Men In Orange were eventually bowled out for 120 in 16.4 overs to face a humiliating defeat.
