England all-rounder Moeen Ali praised Chris Silverwood for looking after the players during his tenure as England head coach.
On Thursday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that Silverwood has left the role of England cricket team head coach.

If reports from English media are likely to be believed then ECB has sacked Silverwood after England were routed 0-4 to Australia in the Ashes 2021-22 in Down Under.
Silverwood’s exit came a day later when Ashley Giles stepped down from the managing director’s position in the England board.
Chris Silverwood tries to look after the players and he’s a brilliant person: Moeen Ali
Silverwood was promoted from his assistant coach role after 2019 World Cup-winning head coach Trevor Bayliss left the role post-2019 Ashes in England.
Moeen, who retired from Test cricket in September last year, lauded Silverwood for his managing style of the players.
The England all-rounder also was upset that the former England pacer won’t continue as their coach but also stressed that results will always be prioritised before anything.
“One thing with Silverwood, he tries to look after the players and he’s a brilliant person, he’s a very good coach. It’s a shame he’s obviously not there anymore but he’s made lots of friends and he can go with a lot of respect because he was such a good guy,” Moeen was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
“It’s always sad when people leave, the guys are good guys and they’ve all done a great job, but at the end of the day everything is about results and we had poor Ashes and these things happen. It’s not a job forever. They tried to do the best for the players but these things happen when you have a bad tour like Australia, which is big for England, people then always after that get sacked, so it’s very sad,” he added.
Moeen is currently playing for Comilla Victorians, who are leading the charts of Bangladesh Premier League 2022 with nine points.
