Legendary England fast bowler James Anderson went unsold at the Hundred draft on Wednesday, March 13. The 42-year-old James Anderson, who retired from international cricket last summer, had thrown his name into the mix despite not playing T20 cricket in over a decade.

Even with no reserve price, the former England pacer couldn't secure one of the 26 domestic slots across the eight teams at the Hundred draft. However, there’s still a chance for Anderson to make his Hundred debut, as he could earn a spot as a wildcard pick.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s rising spin sensation Noor Ahmad and New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell emerged as the draft's biggest winners, each landing a massive £200,000 deal. Ahmad was snapped up by the Manchester Originals, owned by Sanjiv Goenka, who also have the Durban Super Giants franchise in the South African league SA20.

Bracewell, who was instrumental in New Zealand’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, joined last year’s runner-up, Southern Brave, for The Hundred 2025. His ability to deliver with both bat and ball, especially his 2/28 and a fighting 53 in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against India, made him a hot property at the draft.

David Warner set to make The Hundred debut with London Spirit

David Warner also grabbed headlines at the players draft, securing his first-ever Hundred contract with London Spirit for £120,000. Now, Warner will reunite with the Australian head coach Justin Langer, who took charge of the London Spirit earlier this year.

Warner is one of five Australians who have been picked by the franchises at the player draft, with Ashton Turner (London Spirit), Riley Meredith, Chris Green (both Welsh Fire), and Jason Behrendorff (Oval Invincibles) taking the remaining overseas slots.

On the other hand, Rachin Ravindra, the Player of the Tournament of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, was snapped up by Manchester Originals for £120,000 at the players draft. He had a stellar CT 2025, where he amassed 263 runs and picked up three wickets. Fellow Kiwi speedster Lockie Ferguson also found a new home, joining Trent Rockets in the same price bracket.

Jamie Overton gets a massive deal with London Spirit in The Hundred

On the other hand, England’s Jamie Overton landed a massive £200,000 deal with London Spirit after cementing his role as a key all-rounder in ODIs and T20Is. Jamie Overton will join Jamie Smith at London Spirit while Zak Crawley secured a £120,000 contract with Northern Superchargers.

A major shuffle saw Chris Woakes join Welsh Fire as their England pick, triggering a chain reaction. David Willey then claimed a £200,000 deal with Trent Rockets, leaving his former Fire spot open for left-arm pacer David Payne, who grabbed a £120,000 contract.

Fire had hoped to use their right-to-match card for Willey, but with Steve Smith and Jonny Bairstow taking their top slots, they had to let him go. Payne, who started with Fire at £40,000 in 2019, finally secured a major payday.

Notably, a 17-year-old fast bowler, Harry Moore, also got the deal from the Birmingham Phoenix for £41,500, while Manchester Originals picked up Durham batter Ben McKinney for £78,500 after his impressive performances for England Lions. However, Rocky Flintoff, son of Superchargers coach Andrew Flintoff, failed to find a buyer at the player draft.
