In a shocking twist on Day 2 of the first Test between India and England at Headingley, Jasprit Bumrah was caught on camera in a heated exchange with head coach Gautam Gambhir. The incident unfolded during the 40th over of England's innings on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test.

And fans couldn’t stop talking about Jasprit Bumrah’s animated body language as he was visibly upset with how things were unfolding on the field at that moment. England ended Day 2 at 209 for 3 in response to India’s mammoth 471 of the first innings at Headingley, with Bumrah once again proving to be India’s lone warrior with stunning figures of 3 for 48 in 12 overs while the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna failed to make an impact.

Bumrah’s brilliance was evident early in England’s innings, when he knocked over Zak Crawley in the very first over with a magical delivery. The star Indian pacer later took the big wicket of Joe Root and almost claimed the fourth until heartbreak struck. He would have dismissed Harry Brook for a duck as the catch was taken, but the delivery was ruled illegal.

Jasprit Bumrah’s animated exchange with Gautam Gambhir goes viral

Meanwhile, the cameras caught an unexpected incident in the Indian dressing room in the 40th over when Shardul Thakur was bowling and Bumrah stepped off the field. The cameras captured Jasprit Bumrah having an animated and passionate conversation with Gautam Gambhir.

His intense gestures conveyed his frustration with the underwhelming performance of the other bowlers and the missed opportunities that allowed England to take upper hand on Day 2 in Leeds. Bumrah was not happy with how things were going on in the match. The picture of Bumrah’s confrontation with Gambhir has gone viral on social media.

Despite their dominance with the bat and early blows with the ball, India almost let slip their momentum to England.

Dropped catches and missed chances cost them dearly. Both Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope were given lifelines off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, and Pope made the most of it, staying unbeaten with a well-compiled century on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test.

England hit back late after Indian top order runs riot

Earlier, India made a strong start to their England tour by piling up 471 runs in the first innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant have hit brilliant centuries to lead the charge. Jaiswal started things off with a stylish 101 from 159 balls.

And then Captain Gill played a calm and steady knock, scoring 147 runs off 227 balls. On the other hand, Pant batted aggressively, smashing 134 from 178 balls. This was Pant’s seventh Test century—the most by an Indian wicketkeeper in Test cricket.

India had ended Day 1 at 359 for 3. But on Day 2, things didn’t go well, as they lost their remaining seven wickets for just 112 runs. England captain Ben Stokes took 4 wickets for 66 runs, and Josh Tongue also scalped 4 for 86 in the first innings at Headingley.
