Jasprit Bumrah does not think Virat Kohli is the fittest in Indian team

"I know the answer that you are searching for but I would like to say my name because I am a fast bowler. I have been playing for a while, so you know, being a fast bowler and playing in this country in the heat takes a lot of requirements. Virat Kohli's fitness contributions to the Indian team

Although Jasprit Bumrah did not take Virat Kohli's name, Kohli will always remain a fitness inspiration for the upcoming generation of cricketers. Under his captaincy, he brought up the fitness culture in the Indian team and helped in breaking the fitness barriers.

Kohli made the Yo-Yo test compulsory during his captaincy tenure and made fitness the topmost priority of the players in the team. The players, as a result, focused more on fitness and it helped to increase the standards of the whole team.

Virat Kohli last played an international match during the ODI series in India's tour of Sri Lanka.

However, he had a forgettable series with the bat as India lost the series 0-2. Before the Sri Lanka series, Kohli played in the T20 World Cup 2024, in which he helped India clinch the title through a Player of the Match-winning performance in the final.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah hasn't played any competitive cricket since the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa. Bumrah had an outstanding tournament and picked up wickets at crucial intervals. He was adjudged Player of the Tournament for 15 wickets in 8 matches at an average of just 8.26 and an economy rate of 4.17.

Both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will be seen together in India's upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting on September 19 in Chennai.
