Jasprit Bumrah launches brutal attack on Mohammad Kaif over shocking injury avoidance claim

Superstar India National Cricket Team speedster Jasprit Bumrah has launched a brutal attack on the former cricketer Mohammad Kaif over his inaccurate claims.

Jasprit Bumrah took to X to blast Mohammad Kaif over making a bold and incorrect claim on his physical fitness and brutally slammed him.

The 31-year-old Bumrah, who is regarded as the best bowler in the world, has not been in good form in the ongoing edition of the Asia Cup 2025.

India have decided to deploy a spin-heavy bowling unit in the Asia Cup, which has seen Jasprit Bumrah playing as the sole specialist pacer in the line-up.

He has been supported by Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube in the pace-bowling department, while Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel have been handling spin duties very well.

This time around, Bumrah has been used in a different manner as he has been asked to bowl his three overs in the powerplay itself by skipper Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Earlier, this was not the case as he mainly used to bowl one or two overs in the powerplay, and was saved for the end stages of the game.

Meanwhile, Bumrah has not looked at his best in the Asia Cup 2025. In two matches against Pakistan, he registered figures of 2/28 and 0/46, while he recorded figures of 2/18 and 1/19 against Bangladesh and the UAE.

Looking at Jasprit Bumrah performing a different role with the ball in the continental tournament, Mohammad Kaif claimed that the pacer doesn't bowl in a regular breakup of powerplay, middle overs, and death to avoid injuries.

Mohammad Kaif also issued a warning to India, saying that this could hurt the team badly in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 against a stronger opposition. He wrote:

"Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at World Cup, this could hurt India."

However, the premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah vehemently disagreed with the former cricketer Mohammad Kaif's analysis and labelled it as inaccurate.

I don't agree with it at all - Varun Aaron

In a recent discussion on ESPNCricinfo, the former India pacer Varun Aaron disagreed with India's tactics of using Bumrah heavily in powerplay. He elaborated:

"I don't agree with it at all because you need Bumrah 2 up top, obviously he's going to get you those wickets in the powerplay but then if something goes wrong, you have Bumrah in the middle and then at the death. Or you have 2 overs of Bumrah at the death, teams are going to find it very difficult to get away playing Bumrah.

"That being said, now India have found a third seamer, a third seeming option with Dube bowling really well last game, getting 2 wickets, especially on those wickets where he is tall, he can bowl into the wicket really well. So now India have an option, it's going to be interesting to see how India are going to deploy Bumrah, especially after he didn't have the best game against Pakistan. Just an anomaly, doesn't really go for that many. But that being said, 2 of Bumrah at the start and then keep to either 1 in the middle and 1 at the back end or 2 at the back end."
