Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah posted a cryptic tweet after starring in the first Test between England and India in Nottingham. Jasprit Bumrah was the star amongst the four Indian pacers as he took nine wickets in the match, including a fifer in the second innings. The right-arm seamer tweeted ‘Still don’t need you’ in his official Twitter handle and posted a couple of pictures of himself.

Jasprit Bumrah’s spot had slightly come under scrutiny after his forgettable outing in the World Test Championship final. The 27-year old went wicketless, with the likes of Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor finding it relatively easy to milk him for runs. But Bumrah roared back in the first Test against England in Nottingham from ball one.

He struck with his fifth ball, removing Rory Burns without scoring and took three more to skittle the home side for 183. Bumrah ended with up with five more in the second, including the prized wicket of Joe Root, who had scored a hundred to dig England out of trouble. Furthermore, the pace spearhead also played a cameo in the first innings to help India gain a 95-run lead.

Opening batsman KL Rahul was taken aback by a reporter seeing the performance as Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback. KL Rahul stated that the 27-year old has proved himself in every game and every opportunity he earned and has taken Test cricket by storm. He lauded Bumrah for his match-winning skills and showed again in Nottingham.

“Sir, I don’t know why you are saying that Bumrah has made a comeback. Every time, in every game, in every condition he has proved himself and he is our number one bowler. We are happy that he is doing what he is (has) been doing since he started playing Test cricket. Wherever he has played, he has been a match-winner for us. We are happy that he has done once again, what he does best,” Rahul told in a press conference.
