Team India have received huge injury boost ahead of the crucial home series against England next month. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and spin spearhead Ravichandran Ashwin were seen bowling during a practice session at the Gabba on Monday. Both the players missed the ongoing fourth Test against Australia at the Gabba because of injuries.

Ravichandran Ashwin was ruled out due to a back strain that he picked up during his heroic innings in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Despite struggling to stand after waking up on the fifth day of the Test, the off-spinner had batted more than 20 overs as he stitched a fighting partnership with Hanuma Vihari to help India draw the Test and head into Brisbane with the series still tied at 1-1.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah was sidelined after he picked up an abdomen strain during the same Test. But both the bowlers are looking set to play the series-opener against England which is scheduled to take place on February 5 in Chennai. The BCCI, on Monday, took to Twitter to post a clip of the duo bowling during a practice session with the caption:

“@Jaspritbumrah93 & @ashwinravi99 were seen getting into the groove at The Gabba earlier in the day ?️ Seems like the warm-up for #INDvENG is already underway”

If Jasprit Bumrah goes on to play against England, it will be his first Test match at home. The right-arm pacer, who made his debut in Tests in 2018, is yet to play a game at home. He missed the entire home season last year due to a back injury. Meanwhile, the squad for the first two Tests against England is set to be selected on Thursday this week.
