Premier Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently on a break from the game and will return in the home Test season against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

He will lead the Indian bowling attack when the Men in Blue will tour down under to Australia at the end of the year. That will be a crucial Test series for India and Bumrah will need to be at his best.

Jasprit Bumrah last played for India in the T20 World Cup 2024 where he picked 15 wickets in the tournament and won the Player of the series award.

He picked up 3/14 in the crucial match against Pakitan and helped India win the match defending just 120.

At a recent event, the Indian pacer was asked about the toughest batter he has ever bowled to. His response to the question was an interesting one where he said that he never allows opposition batsmen to get into his head as a bowler.

Jasprit Bumrah's Classic Response To Important Query

"Look I want to give a good answer but the real factor is I don't want anyone to take over me in my head because obviously I respect everyone but in my head, I tell myself, if I do my job well, there is nobody in the world who can stop me.

I look at myself rather than the opponent so if I say I have control over everything and I give myself the best opportunity, everything else will take care of itself rather than giving the power to the batsman that he will get the better of me," Bumrah said in his response as he gave an elaborate answer.

Bumrah was amongst the wickets in his last two trips to Australia. In the 2018/19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah picked up 21 wickets at an average of 17, including a best of 6/33.

In the 2021 series, he picked 3 more from three matches before getting ruled out of the fourth due to a back injury. Overall, Bumrah has taken 32 wickets against Australia in seven Test matches.

Bumrah's career has already been marred by many serious injuries. He has been troubled a lot due to back problems for which he missed the 2022 T20 World Cup and also the 2023 IPL as well.

He returned to the ODI World Cup after skipping the IPL season that year with the ODI World Cup held in India. He ended the tournament with 20 wickets and played a big part in India reaching the finals.

Now ahead of a grinding Test season for India, Jasprit Bumrah has been given adequate rest as well to make a proper comeback in the Test series against Bangladesh.

Mohammed Shami is also expected to come back in the home series and together both of them will be crucial for the away series against Australia. India is topping the WTC points table at the moment followed by Australia.
