Jasprit Bumrah might be rested in IND vs ENG 4th Test, as per reports by TOI. Jasprit Bumrah has been picked in the India squad for the last three Tests of the ongoing England tour of India 2024. India vs England 3rd Test begins on February 15.
Jasprit Bumrah has showcased an impeccable form in the India vs England Test series 2024 so far. The right-arm pacer is the leading wicket-taker in the series after two encounters. The Indian pacer has hunted 15 wickets across 2 games at a stunning average of 10.67.
Moreover, Bumrah also won the player of the Match award in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag. The Indian speedster clinched 9 wickets in the clash including a 6-wicket haul in the 1st innings to drive the team to victory by 106 runs. Interestingly, Jasprit Bumrah also overshadowed Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double ton in the match to steal the POTM trophy.

Although Jasprit Bumrah has not shown any injury concerns, he might be rested in IND vs ENG 4th Test to manage his workload. TOI quoted a BCCI source as saying that the Indian pacer could be rested in the 4th Test so that he can execute his best show in the final game.
“He could be rested for the fourth Test in Ranchi, which means that he will be fresh and firing for the fifth and final Test in Dharamshala in early March, which could well be the decider of this closely contested series. That’s the point where Bumrah’s presence will make a difference,” the source said.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah faced a severe back injury in 2022, which kept him out of the field for almost one year. The Indian pacer missed the field from September 2022 to August 2023. He underwent back surgery ahead of his return. Post his return, Bumrah has executed a stunning performance across formats.
The India vs England 4th Test will begin on Friday, February 23 at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Interestingly, Bumrah is also the vice-captain of Team India in this series. It will be interesting to see who will take the vice-captaincy during his absence in the 4th Test.
KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja make a comeback
Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja made a comeback to the squad for the upcoming IND vs ENG 3rd Test. Both of them faced injuries in the IND vs ENG 1st Test and missed the second encounter in Vizag.
However, both of them have regained their fitness. KL Rahul (86) and Ravindra Jadeja (87) were the top scorers for India in the opening game. Below is India’s fully updated squad for the last three Tests against England.
