India National Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the star for his team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The premier fast bowler gave a tough time to the Australia National Cricket Team batters throughout the five-match Test series.
Jasprit Bumrah was by far the best pacer in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as he gave his best with the ball and kept his team in the hunt. The speedster gave his all with the ball but unfortunately fell on the wrong side of the results as the Australia National Cricket won the series by the margin of 3-1.
Jasprit Bumrah was accused of using sandpaper in the series by the Australian media as well as the fans
Bumrah was exceptional with the ball but also was accused of using sandpaper in the series by the Australian media as well as the fans. This all came into headlines when a video of the India National Cricket Team vice-captain changing his shoes went viral on the internet.
Bumrah, in that video, can be seen taking his shoes, and as he did that, some unidentified item also dropped out. The fast bowler, however, took that in his hand and went on to tie his shoes again and since then, the India National Cricket Team fast bowler has come under massive scanner.
That’s a finger protection pad - Ravichandran Ashwin confirms Jasprit Bumrah didn't use sandpaper
The video has been doing rounds on the internet for a while now, and even one of the X users claimed that the ICC is investigating the matter for ball-tampering. This became the talk of the town until Ravichandran Ashwin took matters into his own hands.
Ravichandran Ashwin, while replying to the fan who said that ICC is investigating the matter, confirmed that it was not sandpaper but the finger protection pad that the fast bowlers keep in between their fingers inside the shoes.
Taking to his Twitter account, he said: "That’s a finger protection pad🤣🤣"

Jasprit Bumrah was the leading wicket-taker in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25
Coming to Bumrah, it was arguably one of the best series in his career in terms of the impact that he made. The India National Cricket Team vice-captain seemed to be the lone warrior for the team with the ball in the series and even made handy runs down the order in crucial games.
On the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah was the leading wicket-taker in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The pacer picked 32 wickets in the 5 games and became the Indian bowler with the most wickets in a Test series down under. The tally could've been easily more but he got injured.
Bumrah experienced a back spasm in the match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He bowled just overs in the first innings and then didn't bowl in the second innings. His absence was evident as India National Cricket Team went on to lose the game by the margin of 6 wickets.
