Jaw-dropping claims have been made about the former Australia National Cricket Team leg-spinner Stuart MacGill, who played for Australia National Cricket Team between 1998 – 2008, over alleged kidnapping.

Stuart MacGill, who played for teams like Australia, Sydney Sixers, Nottinghamshire, Devon, New South Wales, Western Australia and Somerset, participated in 44 Test games and bagged 208 wickets, including 9 four-wicket hauls, 12 five-wicket hauls, and 2 10-wicket hauls. Also, he played 3 ODIs and bagged 6 wickets.

Meanwhile, a lawyer for brothers Richard and Frederick Schaaf accused of being hired in the alleged kidnapping of the former Australia National Cricket Team leg-spinner has informed the court that Stuart Charles Glyndwr MacGill was actively involved in a drug deal central to the case and was a regular user of cocaine.

The lawyer of Richard and Frederick attacked the Ex-Australia spinner and told the court that Stuart MacGill willingly went with a group of men to an abandoned house in southwestern Sydney. He also claimed that there is no physical evidence of MacGill being assaulted. Also, Richard and Frederic have pleaded not guilty to charges of take/detain in company with the intent to acquire a benefit.

Notably, Stuart MacGill had alleged that he was driven to a remote site in Bringelly, on the city’s outskirts, where he was assaulted, threatened at gunpoint and money was demanded from him over a drug deal gone wrong. Following, MacGill’s allegations a total of 6 men were arrested, including Richard, Frederic and MacGill’s de facto brother-in-law Marino Sotiropoulos.

Stuart MacGill was an avid user of cocaine – Lawyer Avni Djemal

On Monday, the court was informed that MacGill had allegedly introduced Sotiropoulos to a cocaine dealer. Also, Marino Sotiropoulos has been charged with the supply of a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and will stand trial alongside Richard and Frederick Schaaf.

Stuart MacGill alleges that after a drug deal ended in a “rip off” a group of men forced him into a car outside his home and confronted him.

Meanwhile, lawyer Avni Djemal while arguing for his clients claimed that there is evidence that MacGill had freely participated in a meeting at the Bringelly house and agreed to look at photos in a bid to identify the drug dealer. He also argued that his clients should be released on bail ahead of a trial next year.

“The evidence implicates Mr MacGill to a high level. I’m surprised he’s not charged with the actual drug transaction that he says, in his evidence, ‘I had nothing more to do with it, I just introduced the brother-in-law, Mr Sotiropoulos, to a person who I knew used to sell drugs’,” lawyer Avni Djemal was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.

“The gentleman, now a registered source, he says that this gentleman, MacGill, was an avid user of cocaine and said to be on it all the time or drunk or desperate for money.”

“He doesn’t have one physical injury after those events. If the hits to the front of your face have produced no lumps and you say the onslaught was to the front, the side, knocked you to the ground, how could that be?

“How could his word be that there was a kidnapping? What if he went, saw photos and got brought back?” added the lawyer.
