Senior left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has recently returned on social media after being away from it for a couple of months. The Rajasthan Royals seamer logged off from all his social platforms in June, a month after the IPL 2021 was postponed.

He revealed that during his time off he had been working “on some of the technicalities” in his bowling action.

Jaydev Unadkat said he didn’t want any distraction in that period and hence was away from the buzz of social media. Now the pacer, who is on a 3 crore contract with the Royals, returns to the action for the second half of the IPL 2021. He was impressive in the first half – on his first match this season, he returned with figures of 3/15 in the win against Delhi Capitals.

“I have worked on some of the technicalities in my bowling. I wanted to make a few changes in my bowling action, so was working on that, and that itself requires a good amount of time, so I was devoted towards making those changes and getting used to them,” Jaydev Unadkat was quoted as saying in a media release issued by Royals.

“I wanted to do some work with my bowling and wanted to go off the attention a bit. It’s always nice if you can have some time with only yourself and the family, and not really listen to what the outside world has to say about you,” he explained.

However, he is happy for his Saurashtra and Royals teammate Chetan Sakariya to be picked for his debut India series in Sri Lanka. Sakariya, who was impressive in his maiden IPL season taking 7 wickets in 7 games, was given his India cap in Sri Lanka, where he played one ODI and a couple of T20Is.

“He’s (Sakariya) a very honest guy, keeps working hard for his game so it’s good to see him get rewarded. He’s been doing that for Saurashtra and now he did that for RR as well. So yes, really happy for him and I believe he’ll only learn and get better as he’s quite young,” Unadkat added.

Sanju Samson’s team is sitting on the fifth position with 3 wins in 7 matches. They will take on Punjab Kings on September 21 in Dubai.
