Former England spinner Jeremy Snape opened up on the upcoming Test series between India and England. The much-anticipated five-match Test series between England and India will get underway this week at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Jeremy Snape revealed that the hosts would target Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant the most.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are arguably the heart and soul of India’s batting line-up, irrespective of the format. Indian captain Virat Kohli has not reached three figures in international cricket since November 2019 and his form has dipped slightly. But having aggregated 593 runs in the 2018 series, all eyes would be on him.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is yet to prove himself as a Test opener in demanding and testing conditions. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane also needs heaps of runs to arrest his inconsistency before time runs out. Finally, Rishabh Pant has emerged as one of the biggest match-winners for India in Test cricket. The Englishmen will want to see his back as early as possible in all the matches.

“I think Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant – they are the dangermen,” Jeremy Snape told Times of India. England will look to avenge their series loss suffered in India earlier this year, while the tourists aim to win their first series on English soil since 2007.

According to Jeremy Snape, top teams always target to beat their rival teams. The 48-year old revealed that since England finds touring India tough, they would want to return the favour on their soil.

“Top teams are always looking to beat their rivals. England finds touring India very tough, so I’m sure they’ll want the Indian team to feel the same coming to their home soil,” he added.
