England Cricket Team’s speedster Jofra Archer who last played Test Match against India in February 2021 has been missing from England’s setup due to injury. The right-arm fast bowler currently is in UAE undergoing a rehabilitation program with England Lions.
Jofra Archer was a part of the glorious ICC T20 World Cup where he played a crucial role in helping England win their maiden World Cup. With the Ashes, 2023 aligned next in June Archer can prove to be a threat for the mighty Aussies as last time he had created havoc.
ECB on Jofra Archer
A spokesman for England Cricket Team was having an interaction with Cribuzz and made some interesting comments on Jofra Archer. “He is currently in the UAE with the England Lions team and is continuing his rehab. He is making excellent progress and the view is that he will be looking to play competitively again during the early part of 2023.” said the spokesman.
Jofra Archer Irreplaceable
The right-arm pace bowler is someone who can bowl long spells and be the X factor for the team. With Stuart Broad and James Anderson at the back end of the career, Archer can become the leader of the attack. ECB would be well aware of the fact that Archer may play IPL in order to get some match practice. He is expected to be fit till March and most likely will play with his new IPL franchise Mumbai Indians.
Head Coach Brendon McCullum and Skipper Ben Stokes would be thrilled to see Archer back. The duo has revolutionized England’s red-ball cricket. Brendon McCullum would be keenly monitoring Archer’s progress as he has the knack for being the partnership breaker. England would be well aware of the fact that hurrying Archer can prove to be risky. It won’t be wrong to say that his short run-up has landed him in trouble. It would be interesting to see how Archer fares as making a comeback is never easy in the modern Cricket.
