England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler recently made bold predictions about the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA). Jos Buttler picked the four semi-finalists of the T20 World Cup 2024 and also selected the leading wicket-taker and leading run-getter.

Jos Buttler led the England National Cricket Team to the title victory in the last edition of the T20 World Cup in Australia. The English team defeated the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the summit clash in Melbourne. However, Buttler failed to guide the team to the semi-finals in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

A total of 20 teams, including the two host nations, are participating in the T20 World Cup 2024. The United States of America is hosting an ICC event for the first time. England will enter the tournament as the defending champions. England is one of the top contenders in the tournament to secure the coveted trophy.

In a video shared by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Instagram, Jos Buttler was asked to pick the top four teams in the World Cup 2024. The England captain snubbed strong title contenders like Australia, New Zealand, and Pakistan. Buttler showed bias towards his home team while picking the four semifinalists.

The 33-year-old picked England, India, the West Indies, and South Africa as the top four teams for the World Cup. The wicketkeeper-batter named his Rajasthan Royals teammate Sanju Samson as the leading run-getter in the World Cup. He predicted that Yuzvendra Chahal would finish as the leading wicket-taker.

"Jos bhai with the best predictions," wrote the caption.

England In Third Spot In Group B Points Table T20 World Cup 2024

The English cricket team was scheduled to take on the neighboring team, Scotland, in their first match of the tournament at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Tuesday, June 4. However, the match was abandoned due to persistent rain. Both England and Scotland shared one point each in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Scotland openers George Munsey and Michael Jones added 51 runs in 6.2 overs before rain halted the match. The game resumed with a reduced format of 10 overs per side after a lengthy delay. Munsey and Jones finished unbeaten with 41 and 45 runs, respectively, as Scotland set a 109-run target in 10 overs.

However, the second innings couldn't take place as rain returned. England and Scotland are currently in third and fourth positions, respectively, in Group B of the points table. Both teams earned one point each without any net run rate (NRR).
