Skipper Jos Buttler was on a roll against South Africa in the 3rd ODI. The right-handed batter scored 131 runs in 127 balls where he struck 6 fours & 7 sixes. The batter had come into bat when the team was in a precarious position at 14-3 and helped England post a mammoth score of 346-7.

England avoided whitewash by winning the 3rd ODI by 59 runs. Buttler had said in one of his interviews that the team has started to prepare for ODI WC 2023 without Ben Stokes. There is still uncertainty regarding Ben Stokes who had hinted that he may come back into ODI format after announcing retirement.

Jos Buttler Reveals Tough Bowler

During an interaction with ESPNcricinfo, Jos Buttler was asked about the fiercest bowler and he named Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah & Buttler haven’t played that much ODI Cricket whereas in the T20I format, Bumrah has the wood over him as he has dismissed him 4 times. Buttler was also asked who would from Rajasthan Royals (RR) would hit a 100-meter-long six and he named Sanju Samson.

Concerns for England

England’s next assignment is against Bangladesh in March where they are going to play the 3-match ODI Series which would be part of the World Super League points & 3 Match T20Is. England is the only nation that has beaten Bangladesh in ODIs in Bangladesh since 2015 when they won the ODI Series by 2-1.

The ODI Series would be quite a grueling one for England as we all witnessed how Bangladesh asserted their dominance over India. The Bangladeshi Tigers are a force to reckon with and with the new head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, we can expect a fearless Bangladesh team. Under Hathurusingha in the past, Bangladesh not only did well in bilateral Series but also in the ICC event of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
