Shubman Gill Stayed Unbeaten on 37 in the First T20I Against Australia
Shubman Gill looked in excellent rhythm during the rain-hit first T20I. He scored an unbeaten 37 from just 20 balls, including four boundaries and a six, after a difficult ODI series. Abhishek Sharma was the only Indian batter dismissed, falling for 19 to a clever slower ball from Nathan Ellis.
Suryakumar Yadav kept the innings moving with an unbeaten 39 off 24 deliveries, including three fours and two sixes. Gill and Suryakumar guided India to 97/1 in just 9.4 overs before rain forced the match to be abandoned.
The visitors entered the series looking to rebound from a 2–1 loss in the preceding ODIs, where Australia sealed the series early before India secured a consolation win in Sydney.
