The 29-year-old Australia National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis has created history with his exceptional hundred in the second T20I of the three-match series against the Scotland National Cricket Team at the Grange Cricket Club Ground, Raeburn Place, Edinburgh on Friday, September 6.

Josh Inglis batted well in the first T20I against the Scottish team as he slammed 27 runs off 13 balls, with 3 fours and 1 six, to help Australia complete the run-chase of 155 with 62 balls remaining.

However, he decided to take his performance one notch higher in the second T20I. The wicketkeeper-batsman looked brilliant in the middle from the word go and smashed a 20-ball half-century with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

This was the second-fastest fifty recorded in Edinburgh in T20Is. Josh Inglis went past the records of Michael Bracewell (22 balls), Ollie Hairs (22 balls), and George Munsey (22 balls), and he is only behind Travis Head (17 balls) in the elite list.

Inglis, meanwhile, wasn't just satisfied with his fifty and he kept smashing the Scotland bowlers all over the park. He batted in the top gear and made the bowling unit of the opposition team look clueless with his attacking brand of cricket.

After playing sensationally well throughout the innings, the wicketkeeper-batsman completed his century off just 43 balls. With this ton, he broke the all-time record of his own, as well as Aaron Finch, for the fastest century by an Australian batsman.

Notably, the former Aussie skipper had scored a 47-ball century against England in Southampton in 2013. Also, Inglis had blasted a 47-ball ton against India in Visakhapatnam in 2023.

Not just this, the Aussie wicketkeeper-batsman became just the second batsman to hit a century against Scotland in T20Is after the New Zealand star Finn Allen, who had scored 101 runs against the team in 2022.
