Keshav Maharaj, Alyssa Healy Named In ICC Player Of The Month Nominees For April

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday (My 3) announced the ICC Player of the Month nominees for April 2022.
South Africa spinners Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer were nominated for the award. Oman batter Jatinder Singh is the third nominee in the Men’s category for the Player of the month in April.
Australia wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy, England all-rounder Natalie Sciver and Uganda all-rounder Janet Mbabazi are the nominees for ICC Women’s Player of the Month (April 2022).
Keshav Maharaj was player of the series in Bangladesh Test series
Maharaj and Harmer, who returned to the national side in red-ball cricket after over six years, were efficient in helping Proteas triumph over Bangladesh in the two-match Test series of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-22 cycle. The spin duo shared 29 wickets between them in the two games.
Maharaj claimed 16 wickets at an average of 12.12 while Harmer picked 13 at 15.15. Maharaj was awarded player of the series for his stellar bowling performance that unsettled Bangladesh batters at the crease. Maharaj bowled spells of 7/30 & 7/40 in the two Tests to take his five-wicket haul tally to nine.
Jatinder Singh was in tremendous form during the tri-series between Oman, Scotland and PNG. The Oman opener amassed 259 runs in four innings with three fifties and a century.
Alyssa Healy scored 170 in World Cup final vs England
Alyssa Healy played the match of her life in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 final against England. The Australian gloveman scored 170 off 138 balls to push he team to a mammoth score of 356 in Christchurch.
Healy hammered 26 boundaries without scoring a six and made crucial partnerships with Rachael Haynes (160) and Beth Mooney (156).
In the same match, Sciver displayed resistance with 121-ball unbeaten 148, including 15 fours and a six off Alana King. Although wickets kept tumbling from the other end, Sciver was not in the mood of throwing her wicket.
With 11 wickets at 7.81, Uganda bowler Mbabzi was the leading wicket-taker of the tri-series against Namibia and Zimbabwe in Windhoek.
