Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir recently opened up about his relationship with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli. Gautam Gambhir said that the media often sensationalizes their interactions for TRPs without understanding their relationship.
Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have been involved in on-field altercations in the past in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli engaged in a heated argument with Naveen-ul-Haq during the clash between RCB and LSG in 2023. Gambhir intervened, leading to a fiery exchange with Kohli.
Media Has Got No Clue - Gautam Gambhir
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Gautam Gambhir criticized the media for showing a rift between him and Virat Kohli. He emphasized that interference in their personal relationship is unwarranted and should be left between them.
"It is all about TRPs. Media has got no clue what kind of a person I am, what kind of a person Virat is. All the media wants to do is create hype. But hype can also be created in a positive way," Gambhir said.
"I absolutely second what Virat said. Logon ka masala nahi mila toh (The gossip bit is over for people). As I said, when two people are matured enough, I don't think so anyone has got any right to interfere between two people's life or their relationships because ultimately, it is between two of them," he added.
