Faf du Plessis got across and put his dive to perfection. He judged the catch brilliantly and stunned the Eden Gardens crowd. Even Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer couldn't believe how the opposition captain took the catch.

Shreyas Iyer played a vital innings with the bat for his team at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The hosts skipper racked up a decent half-century and helped his team get to a big total on the board. He ended with innings of 50 runs off 36 balls, batting with a strike rate of over 138 with 7 fours and 1 six.

After Shreyas Iyer got out, Ramandeep Singh produced a magnificent effort with the bat. The all-rounder played a cameo of 24 runs in just 9 balls. He was supported well by Andre Russell (27*) as Kolkata Knight Riders posted a big total of 222 runs on the board.

Earlier Phil Salt (48) oozed his class with the bat as he set the platform for his team. Rinku Singh (27) made a valuable contribution as well. For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Cameron Green was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 4/35. Apart from him, Yash Dayal also picked two wickets whereas Mohammed Siraj and Lockie Ferguson also bagged one wicket.

Ramandeep Singh, who played a vital cameo down the order, talked about his innings with the bat, saying that he was lucky that it was his day. He believes that Kolkata Knight Riders have posted a winning total and backed Sunil Narine to come good with the ball. He explained:

"I just wanted to whack the ball, luckily it was my day. Slow bumpers were not easy to hit, that's what we will do. 222 is a really good score on this pitch, pace on the ball is easy to hit. All credit to Abhishek Nayar, he prepared us this way and all our net sessions resembles a match. We've got a legend in the side in Narine and we will want to watch the legend on show today."

For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the onus will be on skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli to take their team off to a brutal start with the bat and set the platform for other batters to chase.
