Fans on Twitter reacted after Kolkata Knight Riders advanced to the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (21st May).

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a horrible start with the bat as Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Mitchell Starc was all over the top order. He breathed fire with the ball and left the opposition tottering at 39 for four with big guns back in the hut.

Rahul Tripathi (55) kept his team in the hunt and hit a brilliant fifty but he got unlucky and got run out. Heinrich Klaasen (32) also supported him well as the duo added 62 runs for the fifth wicket to bring their team back into the game.

Sunrisers Hyderabad kept losing wickets at regular intervals but in the end, it was skipper Pat Cummins (30) came up with a fighting knock and took his team to a decent total. Based on his innings, Hyderabad managed 159 runs. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Starc picked three wickets, Varun Chakravarthy bagged two scalps whereas other bowlers picked one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Kolkata Knight Riders had a flying start as Rahmanullah Gurbaz (23) and Sunil Narine (21) added 44 runs for the opening stand. Both lost their wickets in quick succession of time but after that, it was Venkatesh Iyer (51*) took the charge.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer (58*) also had a great time in the middle and played a vital hand as Kolkata chased the target comfortably inside 14 overs and reached the final of the tournament.
