Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner Shah Rukh Khan was elated with the way his team performed in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The match took place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Kolkata Knight Riders continued their dominance even in the final of the IPL 2024 as they thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to claim their 3rd title. It was a collective effort with the bat and ball as they first bundled out the opposition for 113 runs and then chased the target inside 11 overs.

The emotions were high inside the Kolkata Knight Riders camp. This was quite evident on the face of their owner Shah Rukh Khan. The Bollywood actor erupted in joy as he first celebrated with his fans and then did a victory lap on the ground.

However, after that, he made sure that he teased Harshit Rana as well. The Bollywood actor was seen imitating the controversial flying kiss celebration of the pacer.

Here’s the video:

For the unversed, Harshit Rana gave an aggressive flying kiss send-off to Mayank Agarwal during the game against SRH in the league stage. After that, he was penalized and then the same kind of celebration also led to his ban for one match in IPL 2024.

Kolkata Knight Riders' IPL 2024 Journey

Kolkata Knight Riders had finished seventh in the previous two seasons of the Indian Premier League and they decided to make some significant changes to the team to make their performance better in IPL 2024.

The two major bold steps taken by the franchise were roping in Gautam Gambhir as the mentor and spending a whopping ₹24.75 crore to acquire the services of champion left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc. The inclusion of Gambhir did wonders for the team and Starc, although inconsistently, delivered some crucial performances for the team.

Pairing with Gautam Gambhir, Chandrakant Pandit, and Abhishek Nayar also brought the best out of captain Shreyas Iyer, who did a terrific job on the field and was mostly spot-on with his decision-making.

West Indies star Sunil Narine switched on his beast mode in the season and showcased some exceptional cricket with the bat while opening the innings and he was equally effective with the ball. In the batting department, along with Narine, Phil Salt, Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer shined and in the bowling side of things, Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana were absolutely wonderful.

The all-round performance of Kolkata Knight Riders saw them finishing at the No.1 spot on the points table with 9 wins and 3 losses. They ended their group stage campaign with a record-breaking Net Run Rate of 1.428 and easily won Qualifier 1 to enter the summit clash, before once again hammering down SRH and winning the IPL 2024 trophy at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.
