Now and then, umpire Kumar Dharmasena leaves the cricket fans stunned as well as surprised with his social media activities. In the past, his knack of posting selfies with the losing captains after a big final left the fans in splits.

Last year, he posted a selfie with Rohit Sharma after India’s loss in the final of the World Test Championship. The photo went viral in no time as fans joked that the former cricketer-turned-umpire was making a streak of posting selfies with losing captains.

In his latest notable social media activity, Kumar Dharmasena has left the fans in splits with his bizarre post for England captain Ben Stokes. The former Sri Lanka cricketer posted the story on his Facebook profile. He posted a photo of the allrounder’s dismissal on day three of the ongoing Test between India and England in Ranchi. Kumar Dharmasena also hilariously added a Bhojpuri song to the photo and the post is currently going viral on social media.

Incidentally, Kumar Dharmasena is also officiating in the ongoing Ranchi Test. On day two, he and Stokes were involved in an animated discussion when India were batting. During the 40th over of India’s innings, Stokes was seen complaining about the floodlight to the umpire. Due to the overcast condition and the low visibility, the floodlights were switched on. However, the England captain was not impressed by the call.

Talking about the ongoing game, England rode on Joe Root’s brilliant unbeaten century to recover from 112 for 5 and post 353. Root ran out of partners and remained unbeaten on 122. In reply, India were reeling at 177 for 7 before Dhruv Jurel’s 90-run knock helped them post 307 runs.

In the second innings, England were bowled out for just 145 runs to set India a target of 191. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 5 wickets while Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets for India. In reply, India were on 131 for 5 at the time of writing this report.
