Ahmed Shehzad, the out-of-favor Pakistani cricketer, is facing a storm of online mockery after a video of him getting clean bowled by a local bowler in a gully cricket match. The 32-year-old, who hasn’t represented Pakistan since 2019, found himself at the center of a social media storm after the clip went viral from Chitral, Pakistan.

In the viral video, Shehzad was clearly seen struggling, as he was dismissed three times in just four balls by a local bowler while playing gully cricket. The video has quickly gained attention and gone crazily viral, as the fans have been attacking the batter with scathing comments and memes.

The timing of this viral video was perfect for the fans of Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam, as Shehzad was in the headlines recently for criticizing the Men in Green and their captain over their embarrassing exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies.

Shehzad brutally slammed the senior Pakistani players, including Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan, for the team’s failure at the mega event, where they suffered humiliating defeats against the co-hosts USA in a group match, and then India also crushed them in New York.

He has accused Babar of favoritism and creating groups within the team, branding him a "social media" king. Now, after his failure in the gully cricket went viral, Shehzad has been facing massive backlash from the fans of Babar on the social media platform X with some fans calling him a "studio player".

A Pakistani fan shared the clip on the X and wrote: “Ahmed Shehzad was bowled out three times in an over by a local resident in Chitral.🥵” This led fans to poke fun at Shehzad for his gully cricket flop show.

Earlier, Shehzad said on a local TV channel, “You are only good at making friendships. Since becoming PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi has made two big blunders. First, by re-appointing Babar as captain. Secondly, making Wahab Riaz the chief selector. He has been very unprofessional in his decision-making and management.

You'll be forced not to remove these 7-8 players who have been part of groupism within the team. If you don't crackdown on these players, it will be harsh on those who will get sacked. Your strike rate is 112 and average is 26. You haven't hit a single six in 207 balls in the Powerplay. I admit I could've improved on my own performances 8 years ago, but your stats are even worse. You are worse than me, but you are king. You're a fraud king.”

Notably, the Babar and Pakistan cricket teams are currently preparing for the Test series against Bangladesh at home. Pakistan will be hosting Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, with the first Test set to be held in Rawalpindi on August 21, followed by the final Test on August 30 in Karachi.
