Laxman Sivaramakrishnan Makes Another Controversial Remark About Ravichandran Ashwin

Former India spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has made another distasteful remark about ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Last week, the former cricketer-turned-commentator raised a number of eyebrows by launching a scathing attack on the India spinner.
It all began when Laxman Sivaramakrishnan took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his views on the commentary team for the World Cup. He pointed out that the commentary panel does not have any genuine spinner.
And when one user suggested that one of the reasons behind it could be India’s struggle against spin and also opined that Ravichandran Ashwin’s inclusion was a good call. The reply, however, did not impress Laxman Sivaramakrishnan much and he began posting controversial remarks about Ravichandran Ashwin. Taking a dig at the India star, the former cricketer wrote:
“Indian batsman are struggling against spin because the pitches in India are doctored for Ashwin in Test matches. Look at his record in SENA Countries.”
He was not done yet. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan went on to state that Ravichandran Ashwin would have to wait for his India selection for a longer time if not for Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni, writing:
“If not for CSK and MSD, he would have to wait longer as Harbhajan was bowling superbly at that time. Played for India, Left India Cement and went and joined the Rival Company Chemplast.
“What LOYALTY FROM THE GREAT MAN. You must build a temple for him. 1 full white ball state tournament bowled Leg Spin, Anyone else would have been kicked out.”
He also called Ravichandran Ashwin “unfit” and a “liability”, leaving the Indian cricket fraternity shell-shocked.
Laxman Sivaramakrishnan targets Ravichandran Ashwin once again:
A day after criticising Ravichandran Ashwin on the social media platform, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan revealed that he received a call from the spinner himself. He revealed that Ashwin discussed about his bowling action with him, writing:
“Ravi Ashwin was nice enough to call me just a while ago to discuss his bowling action, he was as shocked with the venom of the trolls as I was. Also clarified that the people involved are in NO WAY connected to him. GOOD LUCK @ashwinravi99. Do us proud.”
And while many believed that the matter was done and dusted, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, on Monday (October 2) left many surprised once again with another post for Ashwin. In his latest post for the India spinner, the ex-cricketer took a dig at his bowling action, writing:
“Do you still think that this bowling action is bio-mechanically correct??? That is all I am talking about”
