As per the same report, it is believed that he has confirmed his availability for the entire season and finals. It also reveals that he was being targeted by multiple other clubs for the forthcoming season; however, he did not change his destination and chose to stay with the same team he was picked up by two seasons prior.
Lockie Ferguson's IPL form
Lockie Ferguson has struggled with his injuries in recent times. However, he missed the early part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as he became a father and prioritized spending time with his family before joining Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the latter half of the tournament and the New Zealand side for the winter tours.
The 35-year-old was part of the PBKS side as he played just three matches for the franchise in the 2026 season, picking up just one wicket and had an economy of 12.82. Often, his pace has been his biggest enemy with the kind of pitches that are made across the world, which favour the batters.
Lockie Ferguson's recent form
Ferguson was recently part of the Welsh Fire side as he played in 8 matches for the franchise and picked 9 wickets. However, his economy was just above 9 and had an average over 20 in the competition. His side failed to qualify for the knockout rounds after finishing fifth in the league table. They finished with 16 points behind MI London.
The veteran pacer was also part of the New Zealand squad that qualified for the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which they lost against India by 96 runs. He picked 6 wickets in 8 matches with an economy of 9.97. He failed to pick any wickets in the final and went for 48 runs in just two overs.
Apart from him, Kiwi teammate Finn Allen has been in demand as he officially signed with the Melbourne Stars for the 2026–27 Big Bash League season, moving over from the Perth Scorchers in a record-breaking deal worth around A$600,000.
