Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), in a short duration of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has achieved so much success by making it into the playoffs twice in 2022 and 2023. The last season of the 20-over tournament didn’t go their way, as they finished in the seventh position in the points table.

Lucknow’s owner had a heated moment with the former captain, KL Rahul, which indicated the end of the relationship between the two parties. They went all out in the mega auction for the wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant, for a record price of INR 27 crore, to make him the highest-paid player in the history of the tournament.

Lucknow Super Giants gets home advantage in the first season of the IPL 2025

The Lucknow Super Giants will be beginning their campaign of the IPL 2025 against the Delhi Capitals, before moving to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for the face-off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Their first home game of the edition will be against the Punjab Kings, who have only one victory in four encounters.

Lucknow Super Giants will extend their stay at home for the fourth encounter against the Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions. In their first afternoon fixture of the event, Lucknow will be up against the Kolkata Knight Riders. During IPL 2024, the Super Giants failed to win a single contest against the three-time champions.

The biggest advantage for the Lucknow Super Giants in the 18th season of the 20-over tournament is that they will be playing four home games in the first half of the tournament. Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings will be the two opponents for them at home.

If the Rishabh Pant-led side could collect most of the victories in the first part, then they could dream of making it to their third playoffs in the first four seasons of the event.

Lucknow Super Ginats to play four away games in the second half of IPL 2025

The second half of the competition will be tough for the Lucknow Super Giants, as they will be traveling a lot, with the games coming thick and fast for them. On April 19, they will head to Rajasthan for the clash against the inaugural champions of the tournament.

The return fixture against the Capitals will be three days later at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihar Bajpayee Ekana Stadium. They will also move to the Wankhede Stadium for the next away clash. The pitches of Lucknow during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) were belter which predicts it to be a high-scoring affair.

Lucknow Super Giants will face the Gujrat Titans away from home on May 14 before finishing the group stage of the tournament four days later against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at home. In between, they will lock horns with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 09.
