Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya might have slowly fallen out of favor with the selectors but he intends to regain fitness and find a place back in the side. His main aim is to get back into the playing XI and win the World Cup for the country.

The 27-year-old Hardik’s career has been riddled with injuries, something that has kept him from attaining his true potential. He has what it takes to be the trump card for India in the white-ball formats but unfortunately, his body hasn’t cooperated as of yet.

Yes, that’s the plan. My main aim is to be at my peak when the World Cup happens. All my training, planning, preparation is keeping the World Cup in mind. I want to win the World Cup for the country. It will make me really happy and proud.

It is like an obsession with me. IPL will give me a very good preparatory platform for the World Cup but all the hard work ultimately is for the Indian team and the World Cup,” Hardik was quoted as saying to the Economic Times.

Hardik also stated that the current pandemic-enforced bio-bubbles cause mental issues and he has tried his best to maintain the balance between playing and spending time with his family.

I have always rushed myself with my preparation keeping the team’s interest in mind. But this time I wanted some time off to prepare myself physically and mentally. I also wanted to take some time off for my family. We have spent a lot of time in bio bubbles, though everyone has tried to make us feel comfortable, staying in a bio bubble is very tough,” Hardik added.

The Baroda all-rounder has been signed up by Ahmedabad and he will be leading the franchise from the IPL 2022 onwards.
