South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen smashed a no-look six off India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja on Day 2 (Sunday, November 23) of the second Test match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The right-handed batter nonchalantly deposited Jadeja’s delivery over the deep midwicket fence.

South Africa started the second day at 247 for 6, with Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne at stumps. The batters played through the first session without losing a wicket. However, Jadeja broke the 88-run stand by dismissing Verreynne in the second session. Jansen came to the crease at No. 8 in the first innings.

South Africa Tighten Their Grip on the Second Test vs India

South Africa tightened their grip on the second Test. Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne added an 88-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Muthusamy converted his start into a composed century, while Marco Jansen smashed a half-century.

At the time of writing, the Proteas were 428/7, with Muthusamy (107) and Marco Jansen (51) at the crease. Kuldeep Yadav has been India’s best bowler, claiming three wickets amid a difficult outing for the hosts.

Earlier, on Day 1, Tristan Stubbs scored 49 runs while captain Temba Bavuma added 41. Openers Aiden Markram (38) and Ryan Rickelton (35) gave a solid start by adding an 82-run stand.

With a 1-0 lead already in hand after their 30-run win in Kolkata, South Africa now eye a rare Test series victory in India. They haven’t secured a series victory in India since the 1999/2000 tour.

Mazaak Bana Rakha Hai Test Cricket Ko - Rishabh Pant Loses Cool at Teammate

Rishabh Pant expressed his frustration with Kuldeep Yadav on Day 2 in Guwahati, and their stump-mic exchange quickly went viral. India brought Kuldeep into the attack for the 88th over, but he took too long to begin his spell.

The umpire warned Kuldeep twice for not starting the over within the required 60 seconds. A third warning would have cost India five penalty runs. Pant also told Kuldeep that he would handle the field placements and asked the spinner to focus on delivering the ball.

"Yaar 30 second ka timer hai. Ghar pe khel rahe ho kya? Ek ball daal jaldi. Yaar Kuldeep, dono baar warning le li. Poora ek over thodi na chahiye. Mazak bana rakha hai Test cricket ko. Field mere ko karne de. Tu tappe se daalne ko dekh. Baaki ho jaayega kaam."

(There's a 30-second timer. Are you playing at home? Please bowl a ball soon. Kuldeep, you've been warned twice. The entire over is not needed. Made a mockery of Test cricket. Let me set the field. You bowl. Everything else will take care of itself.)
