Australia’s head coach, Justin Langer has made it clear that the Australian batsman Marcus Harris will open the innings alongside David Warner if opener Will Pucovski fails to make it into the Australian side for the fourth Test. Notably, Will Pucovski made his Test debut for Australia in the Sydney Test.

The right-hander was up for the grabs in the first innings itself as he smashed a scintillating half-century in the first innings. However, in the second innings, Mohammed Siraj got the better of him. The young prodigal opener suffered a shoulder injury as he attempted a dive on the field during the Sydney Test.

Justin Langer Names Marcus Harris To Open The Innings For Australia With David Warner In Place Of Will Pucovski

“Will had a sore shoulder before he fell, he was actually going to have a scan after that day’s play anyway, just to see what was happening,” Langer said at a virtual press conference.

“We will see how he pulls up today, we are really hopeful that he will get up and if he doesn’t, then the obvious thing would be Marcus Harris would come in as an opener,” he added.
