MI vs RR: "It's A Different Kind Of Relation" - Sanju Samson Opens Up About His Camaraderie With Rajasthan Royals' Players

Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson opened up about his relationship with different players in the team. He said that R Ashwin and Jos Buttler are like his elder brothers whereas Shimron Hetmyer is a good friend of his.

Sanju Samson is considered a great character both on and off the field. Since time has taken the leadership of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the shades of his calm and composed nature are more on offer.

Sanju Samson said that he’s fortunate to have a good connection with his team and all are like brothers to him. Speaking in a video shared by RR on social media, he said:

“It’s a different kind of relationship with different kinds of players. [Jos] Buttler and [Ravichandran] Ashwin are like my older brothers. [Shimron] Hetmyer is more like a friend to me.”

“The youngsters in the team are my younger brothers. I am very fortunate to have some really good connect in our own team. That really helps, and I really enjoy and cherish that.”

MI vs RR: “There is a different way of communicating to different kinds of players,” says Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson further went on to say that as a captain he believes in treating everyone equally. He admitted that he was confident to succeed as a skipper. He added:

“I believe once you are on the field, everyone is equal. When you treat them the way they should be treated, everything becomes very normal. There is a different way of communicating to different kind of players. Sometimes you need to be hard. When you need to make your decisions, you need to be confident in yourself first.

“I have played the game enough and proved myself. I have the confidence to do this role. You need to have that kind of confidence to do this kind of role. You need to have a lot of transparency and communication.”

Rajasthan Royals are currently locking horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 42nd game of the IPL 2023.
