The World Cup-winning captain and legendary Australian batter was detected with skin cancer back in 2006, just two years after he made his debut in international cricket for Australia.
He has been battling cancer since then. For records, Australia has the highest skin cancer rate in the world, driven by its geographical proximity and largely fair-skinned (less melanin-containing) skinned population.
"Imagine fielding all day in India, out there for eight hours in the sun, a lot of the guys are wearing the baggy green cap, so you are not protecting your ears or your face,' he told the publication You've got short-sleeved shirts, so your arms and the tops of your hands (are exposed)," Clarke said.
