India has sealed the five-match Test series against England after winning the fourth Test at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi by five wickets.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has lauded the ground staff in Ranchi for preparing a perfectly balanced pitch at the JSCA Stadium. India won their third Test in a row against England in this series to seal the series after losing the series opener in Hyderabad by 28 runs.

England won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 353 in the first innings as Joe Root was back to his natural game scoring an unbeaten 122 off 274 balls in the first innings. India, in response, put 307 on the board as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel powered the Indian innings with their respective 73 (117) and 90 (149).

England crumbled for 145 in their second innings as Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc taking figures of 5/51 and 4/22 respectively in the third innings of the match.

India chased the target of 192 with five wickets to spare laying back on half-centuries by skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill and an unbeaten 39 from Dhruv Jurel ending the match. Michael Vaughan praised the ground staff in Ranchi for preparing a well-balanced pitch for the game as it was a perfect balance between bat and ball.

He said that at the start it was looking like the pitch would be a shocker but it turned out to be perfect. India won the Test match by 5 wickets and will now play the fifth Test in Dharamsala.
